Folon never lost his interest in traditional artistic techniques. So, in 1980, he designed a large (2m x 5m) mosaic for one of the patios at the Radiotélévision Belge headquarters on Boulevard Reyers in Brussels and, together with Luigi Guardili, created it using glass tesserae. Occasionally, during the 1980s and 1990s, he had some of his designs created as mosaics, mainly for his houses in Burcy and Cap-d’Ail. However, it was at the end of his life that he produced his major mosaic work. He created a design to cover the whole choir area in the Chapelle des Pénitents Blancs in Saint-Paul de Vence, and this was then created by Matteo Berté.
