Folon. L’Etica della poesia

An unprecedented exhibition, including more than 80 works (drawings, watercolours and sculptures) by the Belgian artist, was held at the heart of the Vatican Museums, on the route to the Sistine Chapel. It focused on Jean-Michel Folon’s civic engagement. A commitment of which man is the measure, for a world in touch with a just and lasting humanity, for civil rights and against war. The Belgian artist devoted part of his career to topics such as these.

A catalogue, which is still available at the Fondation Folon, features the works shown in the exhibition, along with explanatory texts by great Italian art historians: Micol Forti, Claudio Strinati and Marilena Pasquali. English and Italian versions are also available. The catalogue was published separately in French and Dutch. 160 full-colour pages.

To accompany the exposition, a study day entitled L’Etica della poesia was organised at the Academia Belgica in Rome on Friday 6 May 2022.
