The museum
A museum in a superb natural setting
In October 2000, the Belgian artist Jean-Michel Folon (1934-2005) opened his museum in the Château de La Hulpe farm at the heart of the Solvay Regional Estate, just 20 minutes from Brussels. This 227-hectare oasis of greenery is flanked by the Forêt de Soignes.
The museum route, which Folon created himself, winds its way through original, poetic and interactive scenography consisting of installations, plays of light, music and optical effects. The fifteen rooms showcase his iconic creations including inks, watercolours, paintings, engravings, posters, objects, sculptures… Through these 350 or so works, visitors can discover the richness of the work of a multidisciplinary artist who, thanks to the universality of his message, very quickly gained international recognition.
The Fondation Folon museum is open daily from Tuesday to Sunday.
